Dear Reader,
The reading of Catholic Social Teaching In Action was interesting.
The topics discussed in the nine themes explained different topics in society and how the Catholic church advises people to handle situations in life. The reading focuses on ways to incorporate ancient Catholic virtues into modern day society.
The different sections consisted of dignity of every person and human rights, solidarity, common good, participation, family life, subsidiarity & the proper role of government, property ownership, property responsibilities, the dignity of workers, church support for labor unions, colonialism, economic development of third world countries, peace, disarmament, and options for the poor.
I found the section about the role of families in society very interesting. The catholic church preaches that a healthy family is key to the well being of society. I found that section of the theme very interesting because its very true. The catholic church says society needs healthy families, committed marriages, and responsible parenthood to have a better society.
Unfortunately society is not always like this, life gets in the way of healthy complete families. The biggest issue is that the children are the real victims.
The reading was very informative and I found it somewhat entertaining to read how the past popes are trying to improve human condition actively. The Catholic church advises the public on how to live and involve the churches virtues into their lives.
Thanks for taking time to read my post.
Best,
Sebastian
